Azerbaijan’s tourism potential is being promoted at the "ATM Dubai 2024" (Arabian Travel Market 2024) international tourism exhibition, which commenced on May 6.

Recognized as one of the leading tourism events for the Middle Eastern market, the exhibition hosts B2B (business-to-business) meetings, facilitating discussions on collaboration opportunities between local and international tourism industry representatives.

Azerbaijan’s national stand features 34 local partners, including the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Azerbaijan Airlines, Shahdag Mountain Resort, hotels, and travel companies. Visitors to the stand receive information about traditional tourism offerings, experience Azerbaijan’s nature tourism opportunities through VR technology, and enjoy a tasting of traditional Azerbaijani sweets.

Additionally, on May 3, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, delivered a presentation on Azerbaijan’s tourism potential at a panel discussion held during the "Phocuswright WiT Middle East" conference in Dubai, which focused on global tourism development, innovation, and new opportunities.

Since July 8, 2023, a visa-free regime allowing a stay of up to 90 days has been in place between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In 2023, 41,085 UAE citizens visited Azerbaijan, marking an 11.4% increase compared to 2022. Furthermore, in the first four months of 2024, the number of UAE visitors to Azerbaijan has seen a 22% increase compared to the same period last year.
